Explosive Precursors (EP) matters are regulated by SPF through the Guns, Explosives and Weapons Control Act 2021 (GEWCA), which defines, among others, categories of EP and the licensing requirements to possess and use such materials, including their disposal. The industrial risk related to those materials makes the collection and disposal services very sensitive: any failure in the handling of the material could cause severe consequences at customer premises, on the road during the transportation, or at the TIWC facility. Aside from the compliance, a stakeholder willing to dispose of EP materials in Singapore needs to find an experienced TIWC with the right treatment technology.

Treatment
Most of the EP waste has to be treated by High Temperature Incineration (HTI) with energy recovery, via automated direct injection systems, avoiding the storage step.
