#### With expertise that combines innovation, quality and safety, Veolia transforms all types of waste, from the most commonplace to the most hazardous, into new raw materials for reuse in industry. ## Total expertise in the management and transformation of waste The surgical mask has become an everyday object. Made primarily from plastic, it represents a major source of pollution if not recycled or recovered. Veolia has spent more than 40 years developing solutions to recover and transform both commonplace waste like this and hazardous waste (corrosive or inflammable products, lithium batteries, etc.) and turn them into new resources. For example, Veolia offers solutions for recycling and reclaiming solvents. These substances are generally toxic liquids and are used in numerous industrial applications. To manage this waste, which can potentially be extremely hazardous to human health and the environment, Veolia has developed comprehensive expertise for its industrial customers, covering everything from removal to reuse. The solvents are collected in custom containers and transported in complete safety, with guaranteed traceability, before being treated to separate the solvent from any solid impurities. The products of this process are recycled or reclaimed so that manufacturers can reuse them. ![](/sites/g/files/dvc2031/files/styles/default/public/image/2021/04/transeco-affichemaskT2-324x450-EN.jpg.webp?itok=zN7ou5Ik) **REAL-WORLD EXAMPLES** **•** In the UNITED STATES, Veolia meets the needs of numerous refineries, chemical plants and hospitals through its four dedicated solvent recycling sites. **•** In FRANCE, the Veolia subsidiary Picardie Régénération treats 18,000 metric tons of solvents annually, avoiding 22,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions per year in the process. **50 million metric tons** of waste processed by Veolia annually **27** hazardous industrial waste incineration units operated by Veolia **35** specialized recycling centers operated by Veolia ## A multifaceted performance creating high-impact solutions for all Ecological transformation also means looking beyond economic and financial performance alone to work on environmental, social, commercial and human resources performance. Multifaceted performance means achieving the perfect balance between all these factors, which for us form an indivisible whole. ![](/sites/g/files/dvc2031/files/styles/default/public/image/2021/04/transeco-bluewheeldesktop-292x279-EN.png.webp?itok=q0tt1Vn4) ### Our human resources performance Developing high value-added expertise and skills ![Our environmental performance](/sites/g/files/dvc2031/files/styles/default/public/image/2021/04/transeco-orangewheeldesktop-292x279-EN.png.webp?itok=IcJe5CgK) ### Our environmental performance Reducing carbon emissions;
